A couple of years ago, Shopify realized it’s difficult to build all the features to meet all of their users needs and made a decision to open up its platform allowing 3rd party developers to build apps for its users. Your product team is working on building the Shopify App Store that allows merchants to discover and install apps that can help them grow their businesses. What are the goals and success metrics of the app marketplace? Now that the Shopify App Store has been running for a year, the overall app installation and usage rate have stagnated. How would you go about growing the product?

Your team just built and shipped an experiment of a new pricing plan for Shopify (Starter), which is cheaper than other plans ($5/month) and offers a limited feature set. The main objective is to increase long-term merchant growth, but you can’t tank the business in the process. Note: Looking at the results of an initial A/B test experiment, you're seeing that the rate of new merchant growth (gross adds per week) has increased by 10%, but subscription revenue has decreased by 5% because of the distribution of plans which new merchants choose has shifted. Do you ship it? Why / why not?
